  • Fuel pressure check
  • Transfer switch inspection and load test
Budget-friendly

Portable hookups

Already own a portable generator? Connect it safely to your panel instead of running extension cords.

The install

One company, start to finish.

Many generator companies subcontract the electrical work. Medic is a licensed electrician, so sizing, wiring, the transfer switch and the hookup are handled by the same person.

Common questions

What size generator do I need?

It depends on what you want to run. Some homes only need essentials like heat, the well pump and the fridge; others want the whole house. We do a load calculation during the free site visit.

Natural gas or propane?

If you have natural gas service, that's usually the simplest fuel. Without it, a standby unit can run on a propane tank. We'll go over what fits your property.

How often does it need service?

At least once a year, and more often if it runs a lot during long outages. A maintenance plan keeps it on schedule.

Do you service generators you didn't install?

Yes. We can maintain and inspect existing standby units. Ask about your model when you request a quote.
